Do THIS to get comfortable on camera!

The Content Byte

The new year brings about new goals, and if video marketing is one of your goals, then keep reading.

I recently had a convo with someone almost ready to start recording videos for their business, but they had one problem.

They weren't confident on camera.

I hear this a lot.

As someone who is eternally introverted, I understand.

When I first started my YouTube channel, I was HORRIBLE.

I tripped over my words, fidgeted, and didn't look into the camera.

Recording videos does get easier over time.

Right now, I don't heavily script my videos and go off of barebones notes.

The words flow more easily, and I know to look directly into the camera and speak.

So, how do you get to that point?

Practice, of course!

But I won't tell you that you need to record hundreds of hours of YouTube videos before you get to that point.

It's actually quite easy.

For anyone starting out on video, I tell them to record 10 "selfie" videos of themselves to get used to being on camera.

These videos are short...at most a minute or two.

If you don't know what to say, practice repeating your elevator pitch.

Make sure to look into the camera!

I trained myself to do that by placing a small sticker near the lens so I could focus on it instead of my image on the phone. (This works if you're using a traditional camera too.)

Don't worry about posting these videos anywhere. They're just for practice.

Repeat this exercise as much as you need until you feel comfortable.

In my experience, it takes about a week to start feeling comfortable on camera.

Once you feel comfortable on camera, start incorporating video marketing strategies for your business.

In my latest blog, I cover some of the most popular video marketing strategies for your business.

Taja is on a LIFETIME deal now on Appsumo!

I'd grab this now so you don't get stuck in a costly subscription later on; I've already stacked all codes for unlimited videos per month!

The Content Byte Hey Reader, Since I recently launched Social Pop, I figured it would be helpful to discuss which social media platforms business owners should focus on. It can get overwhelming with so many to choose from. But with so many platforms out there, how do you choose the right ones for your business? The first step is understanding yourself (your brand) and your ideal customer. What's your brand voice? Playful and casual, or professional and authoritative? Who are you trying to...

The Content Byte Reader, Christmas is in 2 days...I can't believe how fast time has flown! My mini-me and I have a long day of baking ahead. We're baking homemade cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning and to give to some of our church family. The snowball cookies are for Santa! I haven't baked much since my daughter was born, and now that she's big enough, we can bake goodies together. This season is the time to cultivate memories that will last a lifetime. From our family to yours, we wish...
